WHAT DID YOUR DOCTOR PRESCRIBE?
UNDERSTANDING LENS TYPES
Single Vision
Help you to see clearly at one distance. This includes readers for your book or phone, or computer lenses so that you can see your computer monitors clearly. It’s also common to wear single vision glasses to see clearly at a distance for driving.
Advanced Progressive Lenses
Sometimes called “no-line bifocals, progressive lenses allow you to see clearly at multiple distances, without the “jump” of the sharply defined boundary found in bifocals or trifocals. These lenses provide you with the ability to focus quickly amd provide you with good dynamic vision both night and day. Your optician will take careful custom measurements when you are prescribed a progressive lens to provide the ultimate in personalized vision.
Occupational Lenses
These lenses are often prescribed for people who spend a lot of time at their computer. They are a no-lined, multifocal lens that corrects near and intermediate vision, so that you can comfortably switch between your computer monitor and your phone or written notes. Because of their specific design they are NOT suitable for general use or driving.
Anti Reflective Coatings
Sometimes referred to as Anti-Glare coatings, this improves the clarity of your vision through your glasses as well as your appearance. Fewer reflections mean more light passes into your eye making it easier for you to see, and the lenses look more transparent making it easier for people to see your eyes and facial expressions. You will also notice less glare when driving at night and working on your computer (compared with non A/R coated eyewear).
Our Anti Reflective coatings have additional advantages
- Anti-scratch technology to keep your lenses looking clearer longer
- Anti-static technology to help repel dust particles in the air
- Hydrophobic technology to help make your glasses easier to clean.
Transition Lenses
These lenses darken in bright light so that you don’t have to switch between your regular glasses and sunglasses. Transition technology has come a long way over the last few years, making it possible for you to look fashionable with a choice of tints when they are dark, but returning to clear more than 2x faster than previous generations of transitions so that you don’t feel uncomfortable when you go back inside. New Transitions Gen S come in 8 beautiful colors. Try them on virtually here
Blue Light Blocking
Blue Light blocking lenses have become more popular with the increased amount of time we as a community are spending on digital devices. You may have heard that Blue Light is bad for your eyes, but did you know that exposure to blue light has been shown to disrupt melatonin production in our bodies, which can lead to difficulties falling or staying asleep, which can indirectly impact behavior and mental health. .
UV Protection
Lenses with UV protection block harmful UVA and UVB rays from the sun, shielding your eyes and the delicate skin around them. UV protective glasses should be worn even when its cloudy.
WHY BUY YOUR EYEWEAR FROM YOUR EYE DOCTOR?
We recognize that our patients have many options when it comes to purchasing eyewear. Big box stores and online retailers offer deals and pricing that can seem to good to ignore. However not all eyewear is created equal, and there are many important reasons why you should consider purchasing your eyewear from your eye doctor.
Continuity of Care
By purchasing eyewear from your eye doctor, you contribute to the continuity of your eye care within the circle of care model. This ensures that all aspects of your eye health, from routine exams to vision correction, are managed consistently by a trusted healthcare provider. During your annual eye health exam, your doctor prescribes specific eyewear based on your responses during your exam, and your unique circumstances. At the end of your exam, your doctor personally explains your prescription to one of our trained opticians, who understands the nuances of your prescription and will work to ensure that your chosen eyewear meets the doctor’s requirements to optimizes your vision.
Professional Fitting
The choice of the frame is as important as the selection of the lenses when purchasing eyewear. A poorly fitting frame will impact the quality of vision the patient will experience when wearing it. Our opticians will work with you to make sure that the frame fits properly and is appropriate for your prescription. This has the added advantage of making the eyewear much more comfortable and reducing slippage.
Quality and Authenticity
All the frames offered for sale in our clinic are high quality and durable. They are chosen by our opticians, who work directly with representatives from the manufacturers to ensure that we only carry authentic, fashion forward, products that you can trust.
Our opticians also work directly with our lens manufacturers to ensure that they are familiar with the latest technology, whether it’s a new progressive design that is easier for patients to adapt to, or faster, brighter color options for transition lenses.
Follow Up Care
Even though our eyewear is high quality, and durable, we understand that life happens. Repairs and adjustments are complimentary on eyewear purchased from Duvall Advanced Family Eyecare
Extended Warranty
All the ophthalmic frames we offer come with a full 2-year warranty against manufacturer defects, and our anti-reflective coated lenses come with a one time full 2-year warranty against defects and scratches at no extra charge.
